This guy was tough, the warriors couldn't get anywhere near him with that gravity gun and all, but look, it payed off!

Sorry, couldn't resist. As soon as I saw the afflicted in the Undercity I had a flashback. Am I the only one that is not getting some of this? Sure the graphics are great, and I really want to give it a chance, but I'm not sure chapter 2 cutting it for me. Any hope on Chapter 3?

My flashback was to System Shock 2, personally.

And hammers in GW are definitely not fast enough to match the sheer killing speed of Gordon's crowbar.

I noticed that as well. I played Halo a lot and the similarities of the Afflicted and Flood are just so strong and exactly like the Flood.
